1. Data we collect and how we collect it
Dog photos and training inputs
We collect a photo only when you choose one from your photo library or take one with the camera and then expressly agree to send it for AI processing. A photo may show your dog, surrounding environment, and other visual context you include.
We also collect the training goals, lesson or program selections, breed or size context you provide when a feature requests it, and the technical instructions needed to produce your requested coaching reply, breed guide, or related analysis.
DogPath may analyze visible characteristics in a submitted dog photo—such as apparent breed cues, size, coat type, or scene context—for the feature you request. DogPath does not use these features to identify you personally, authenticate you, or create a facial-recognition or Face ID template for people.
Walk location and activity context
When you choose features that track walks or outdoor practice, DogPath may collect location or GPS-related data while the feature is active, together with session timing needed to show distance, route, or practice history. Location access is requested through the operating system and can be changed in device settings.
AI dog coach chat
When you use the AI dog coach, we collect the message you submit, relevant previous messages included to maintain the conversation, and training context such as selected goals, lessons, programs, and preferences. This content is collected only after you expressly agree to send AI coach messages.
Account and authentication data
DogPath creates an anonymous service identifier when the app starts so that it can enforce usage limits and provide core functionality. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we receive the account identifier and profile information made available by that sign-in method, which may include your name and email address.
Purchases and subscription status
Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat, Inc. processes an app user identifier, product and entitlement information, purchase status, and transaction information so that DogPath can provide and restore DogPath Pro features. We do not receive or store your payment-card number.
Technical and usage data
Our systems automatically process service identifiers, premium status, feature usage counters, request timestamps, app and device information, IP address, and limited diagnostic logs. We use this data to operate the service, prevent abuse, enforce feature limits, diagnose failures, and maintain security.
DogPath does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal data or use it for cross-app tracking.
2. How we use the data
We use the data described above only to:
- Upload and process the photo, message, or walk context you expressly submit
- Generate requested coaching replies, breed guidance, and related training results
- Provide the AI dog coach conversation
- Display, save locally, and export the result or history you request
- Authenticate accounts, provide subscriptions, and restore purchases
- Enforce service limits, secure the service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures
- Comply with law and enforce our terms
DogPath does not use submitted photos, AI chat content, walk data, or generated results to train DogPath models. We do not permit our AI processors to use DogPath inputs to train models for their own or another customer's benefit.
3. Third parties that receive data
We share data only as needed to provide the feature you request:
- Cloud infrastructure providers: receive photos for temporary secure storage as well as service identifiers, account information, request payloads, usage counters, and subscription status needed to operate account, storage, and processing features.
- AI processing providers: receive a submitted dog photo through a temporary cloud URL and the relevant analysis or coaching instructions when you request photo-based guidance or breed identification. They may also receive an AI coach message, relevant chat history, and training context when you request a reply.
- RevenueCat, Inc.: receives an app user identifier and purchase, subscription, and entitlement information to provide and restore DogPath Pro access. RevenueCat does not receive DogPath photos, walk GPS data, or AI coach messages.
- Apple Inc. and Google LLC: receive information when you choose their account sign-in or app-store payment services, subject to their own privacy policies.
Each service provider is required by its data-processing terms and our instructions to use DogPath personal data only to provide the contracted service, protect it with the same or equivalent safeguards, keep it confidential, and delete or return it as required.
We do not authorize any provider to sell DogPath personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train models for other customers.
4. Consent before AI processing
Before DogPath sends a photo or AI coach message, the app displays a separate disclosure that states:
- Exactly what data will be sent
- The company or companies receiving it
- The purpose of the transfer
Nothing is sent for that AI feature unless you tap the affirmative “Agree” button. Choosing “Don't Send”, closing the flow, or using the back action does not grant permission.
Photo and chat permissions are separate. You can withdraw either permission at any time under Settings → AI Processing. Withdrawal blocks future transfers but cannot undo processing that you previously requested.
5. Storage and retention
- Photos and generated processing images stored temporarily in secure cloud storage are scheduled for automatic deletion after no more than 12 hours.
- Your training history, saved progress, and chat presentation are kept locally on your device unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise. Local content remains until you delete it, delete its app data, or uninstall the app.
- Account identifiers, subscription status, and usage records are kept while needed to operate your account and service limits, and are deleted or anonymized after account deletion except where law, security, fraud prevention, or financial recordkeeping requires longer.
- AI processors may retain limited request data for the shortest period permitted by applicable business/API terms for safety, abuse monitoring, and legal compliance. They may not use DogPath inputs for model training or advertising.
6. Security and international transfers
DogPath transmits data over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections and uses access controls intended to limit data to authorized systems and personnel. Our processors may handle data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use contractual and legal safeguards for international transfers.
7. Your choices and rights
You can decline AI processing and continue using features that do not require the transfer. You can withdraw AI permissions in the app, delete locally saved content, and delete your account in the account settings. You can also change location permission for walk features in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection and may complain to your data-protection authority.
To make a privacy request, use the Rocket Digital contact form and identify DogPath in your request.
8. Children
DogPath is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so that we can delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when the app, processors, or legal requirements change. If a change affects the data, recipient, or purpose covered by an AI permission, DogPath will ask for permission again before the next transfer.
